Black Crow Cabin: Creating a Crime Thriller, Part 1 by Peggy Webb

I’m so excited to be writing for Bookouture, my fabulous new publisher of Black Crow Cabin: A Logan Sisters Thriller, Book 1! My terrific editor and I have worked hard—and had fun—to make sure this story is as chilling and satisfying as possible.

Pub date is April 30, but I hope you’ll preorder now on Amazon so you can start reading as soon as possible. Order here:  https://tinyurl.com/2m36z7n6

When I created this classic Good VS Evil story, I didn’t want to pit a detective or anyone with crime-solving skills against my evil character. I wanted an innocent. An ordinary woman who could be your best friend or your next-door neighbor. Enter Rachel Logan Maxey, a recent widow and single mom to two small children, a school teacher struggling to make ends meet and hold onto the ranch that has been in her family for generations. She has no training in police work, no best buddy or old boyfriend in law enforcement, and no inside track with the sheriff’s department in her hometown.

Rachel’s backup team includes a feisty aging grandmother, an equally old watchdog, and her husband’s best friend, a helicopter pilot who had given his word that he would try to protect Rachel and the children if anything happened to Max.

Next, I set out to create a villain so terrifying he would rival Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris. The Collector was born. When he first appeared on the page, I followed along, breathless, to see what he would do next. He took me on a fascinating descent into madness!  He knocked my socks off… and he hope he will do the same to you!

I can’t wait for you to read and tell me what you think!

Soon, I’ll write Part 2 of the making of Black Crow Cabin. I have to tell you about Rachel’s gift, her family background, her sisters, and so much more!  Keep coming back to my blog for more.

Also, you can follow me on social media where I’ll be posting tidbits about the book.

And be SURE to follow my new YouTube channel. Just click the icon on my social media or type Peggy Webb on Page and Piano into the YouTube search engine. I have some video mini-classes on writing there, and also music videos where I play the blues gospel I love and discuss the connection between my music and my books.

Until next time….
