Spring News

Spring News Peggy Webb WEDDINGS! On a personal note, two of my wonderful grandchildren have brought new grands into my life. My grandson David Webb, who took the gorgeous photos you see throughout the website, got married recently and brought the lovely Sara into the family.  My amazing granddaughter Susan Griffith is getting married in May to the equally amazing Shane Tepper, none other than one of my website designers!  I am doubly blessed. LATEST SERIES My Alice and Dudley series has quickly become a fan favorite. I think it’s because readers love the characters…and the Search and Rescue dog, Thunder. He is based on my beloved chocolate lab Jefferson. https://tinyurl.com/ybnc6dwx Book 1 is NO ONE TO HEAR THEM SCREAM. Alice, a reclusive, small-town bookkeeper finds the lost. But her latest rescue drags her back into her painful past and pits her against a serial killer. Find out how she survives, with a lot of help from her curmudgeonly neighbor, ex-cop Dudley. The prequel, SILENT BONES, takes readers back 25 years into Dudley’s past, and the murder case that broke him. Both books are available in eBook, KU (free), and paperback. https://tinyurl.com/r445zau7 WHAT I’M WRITING NOW I’m working on Book 2 of the Alice and Dudley thriller series. Currently, it’s scheduled for publication in August, 2025. BIG SURPRISE I just completed a blockbuster novel a few trusted readers call “a masterpiece,” “the best book I’ve read all year,” and “readymade for film.” I’ll have more news about the book soon.  Have a lovely spring! Peggy Webb

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! Peggy Webb I wish all of you a wonderful and safe holiday season filled with every blessing followed by an amazing start to a New Year!  Thank you for being such loyal readers and writing fantastic reviews of my books this year!  Looking at 2024 It was an incredibly busy year for me, starting with the Logan Sisters thriller trilogy, published by Bookouture in London from April through September. I had such fun pitting evil villains against three ordinary women and their feisty, hilarious grandmother, who rose to the occasion by doing extraordinary things!  I loved departing from the police procedural to bring you stories that are chilling and fast-paced as well as filled with the heart and soul of family. And then there was Thunder! This fall I brought the Alice and Dudley thriller to you, No One To Hear Them Scream, and the prequel, Silent Bones. The prequel is currently part of a duo of thrillers under once cover, Bone Echo by my incredible friend and fellow bestselling author, Debra Webb (https://debrawebb.com/).  These two novellas will be together for a limited time then Silent Bones will go under the cover you see below.   Readers love Alice and her SAR dog Thunder, as well as her motley crew of misfit neighbors (No One to Hear Them Scream). Once again, an ordinary woman and her extraordinary dog match wits with an evil mastermind bent on kidnapping and murder. And once more, the evil is balanced by the warmth of family and friends. Books FREE to KU Members Good news! I have just put more than fifty of my novels across multiple genres into KU. You’ll find my fan-favorite Elvis comedic cozies (Southern Cousins Mystery series), bestselling classic romance, some of my literary fiction, and all of my mystery/suspense/thrillers. What’s Coming In 2025, I’ll be adding more titles to KU, as well as publishing a second Alice and Dudley thriller. I’m also working on a blockbuster mystery, but it is far too early to share any details.  I’ll keep you posted here and on social media. Follow me using the links here on my website. Be sure to follow me on Amazon to be notified of my latest books.  Keep reading! Peggy

Black Crow Cabin: Creating a Crime Thriller, Part 1 by Peggy Webb

Black Crow Cabin: Creating a Crime Thriller, Part 1 by Peggy Webb I’m so excited to be writing for Bookouture, my fabulous new publisher of Black Crow Cabin: A Logan Sisters Thriller, Book 1! My terrific editor and I have worked hard—and had fun—to make sure this story is as chilling and satisfying as possible.  Pub date is April 30, but I hope you’ll preorder now on Amazon so you can start reading as soon as possible. Order here:  https://tinyurl.com/2m36z7n6 When I created this classic Good VS Evil story, I didn’t want to pit a detective or anyone with crime-solving skills against my evil character. I wanted an innocent. An ordinary woman who could be your best friend or your next-door neighbor. Enter Rachel Logan Maxey, a recent widow and single mom to two small children, a school teacher struggling to make ends meet and hold onto the ranch that has been in her family for generations. She has no training in police work, no best buddy or old boyfriend in law enforcement, and no inside track with the sheriff’s department in her hometown.  Rachel’s backup team includes a feisty aging grandmother, an equally old watchdog, and her husband’s best friend, a helicopter pilot who had given his word that he would try to protect Rachel and the children if anything happened to Max. Next, I set out to create a villain so terrifying he would rival Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris. The Collector was born. When he first appeared on the page, I followed along, breathless, to see what he would do next. He took me on a fascinating descent into madness!  He knocked my socks off… and he hope he will do the same to you!  I can’t wait for you to read and tell me what you think! Soon, I’ll write Part 2 of the making of Black Crow Cabin. I have to tell you about Rachel’s gift, her family background, her sisters, and so much more!  Keep coming back to my blog for more. Also, you can follow me on social media where I’ll be posting tidbits about the book. And be SURE to follow my new YouTube channel. Just click the icon on my social media or type Peggy Webb on Page and Piano into the YouTube search engine. I have some video mini-classes on writing there, and also music videos where I play the blues gospel I love and discuss the connection between my music and my books. Until next time…. Peggy

My Favorite Charities

My Favorite Charities I’m delighted to share my favorite charities with you. God has blessed me, and I have been privileged to give back to several organizations that are dear to my heart. Dino and Cheryl Kartsonakis                     Dino at the piano Topping the list are my friends, Dino and Cheryl Karsonakis, whose music ministry and personal testimonies have blessed an estimated 80 million people around the world. After six decades of performances that include President Regan’s Inaugural Ball, President Carter’s Cambodian Relief Dinner, Tiananmen Square in China, the Tower of David in Jerusalem, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Moscow in Russia and so many more, Dino—an incomparable, multi-award-winning genius of the keyboard–continues to spread God’s word through his music and his witness.  In a video on 1-26-21, Dino said, “These fingers have the mind of God.” On 8-7-18 he called his amazing piano arrangement of the timeless hymn, I Love to Tell the Story, “a love song.” You can hear Cheryl’s powerful testimony every time she sings A Child of the King, with Dino’s accompaniment. Their music is heaven-sent. They are anointed. On a personal note, I have loved and played Dino’s arrangements for many years, both at home and at various churches. Though I’m an amateur pianist with small hands, I always sound good playing Dino! It has been my pleasure to connect with them personally. They are lovely, down-to-earth people with beautiful hearts and a Christian mission.  You can support the Dino and Cheryl Kartsonakis International Ministries by going to their Facebook page as well as Dino’s website. You’ll also find AMAZING piano arrangements at the website and his award-winning CD’s that will transport you. I play Dino’s CDs while I write. What inspiration! Here are the links to their FB page and website: https://www.facebook.com/dandcinternationalministries Another favorite charity is Faith in Practice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing medication plus medical supplies and care (including transportation to the temporary hospital site and surgery) to the indigenous people of Guatemala. ALL donations go for medical care. Volunteers pay their own way.          Terry Estes with Faith in Practice in Guatemala My niece lovely Terry Estes has been doing this medical mission work for thirty years. It’s not as simple as packing a bag and getting on a plane. She and her team not only pack everything needed and get it ready to ship, but also raise money to pay for the supplies and medication. She is one of the most loving and compassionate people I know, so willing to help bring health care to those in desperate need. You can help support these medical missions by donating to her team at this site (She will be in Guatemala when you read this.):  Terry Estes Medical Team, Faith in Practice https://donate.faithinpractice.org/fundraiser/5033178 My final favorite charity is Shepherd Center of Greater Tupelo. They provide drivers and help with small home repairs for senior citizens who don’t qualify for other programs for various reasons: they don’t live within the city limits, or they aren’t on government assistance programs that provide the help they need, or any number of other ways they simply fall through the cracks. I am one of those people who fell through the cracks. My children and grandchildren live in states far away from me – 350 miles and 1,500 miles. My only living close relative is an older sister with health issues.   Though I’m healthy as a horse (as Mama used to say), I occasionally lose all balance because of a dreadful fall last year at poolside that knocked the crystals in my right ear out of place. (Thankfully, they can get “rolled” back into place.) When the crystals “unseat,” I’m totally helpless until a professional gets them properly seated again. I certainly can’t drive! A few weeks ago, I lost all balance and could find no one to drive for me. Enter the Shepherd Center. They have volunteers who drive, given a three-day notice. They were a Godsend to me! They are a nonprofit organization, dependent entirely on donations. I hope you’ll be generous. Here is their website:    Shepherd Center of Tupelo https://www.sctupelo.org/ Thank you for reading to the end of this post. I have the best fans who are gracious and generous-hearted. If you’re looking for ways to help others, I hope you’ll consider these three charities.  God is good! By Peggy Webb

Exciting Changes

Peggy and Roy Turner, the end of an era—Peggy at Romantic Times Conference, Orlando, Florida      Welcome to my fabulous new website! It marks the end of a long and wonderful journey with my dear friend Roy Turner as my webmaster, videographer, and photographer for a career that took me around the world and through multiple genres to the beginning of an exciting journey with the young, savvy, and delightful guys at TX Web Dev–Shane Tepper and Jeremy Jalnos.       Shane and Jeremy designed the great new look of the website, which incorporates amazing photos by my grandson, David Webb, in the headers and the slide show. I couldn’t be more excited to unveil it for you!  We’ll be adding other features I think you’ll love.      The sleek new look showcases the crime thrillers I am writing for my new publisher, Bookouture.
