I’m starting 2019 with a bang! It’s such a thrill to bring my new Anna Michael’s historical suspense to you on January 8. BLUEBIRD FLYING BACKWARD is a book of my heart, the poignant story of sisters whose love for each other transcends tragedy. This novel combines history from the Jazz Age through the Lindbergh baby kidnapping, and pairs my fictional characters with some of history’s giants. You’ll see Charles A. Lindbergh and his wife Anne Morrow Lindbergh, the Morrow family and their household staff, J. Edgar Hoover, Al Capone along with a cast of mobsters, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and a huge colorful cast of other real people who played a part in the kidnapping that was called “the crime of the century.”
The Lindbergh baby kidnapping is interwoven with my fictional story of a disappearance that tears the Samuels family apart. For purposes of the timeline, I had to compress some of the facts. Through the facts are accurate, the conversations are only imagined. BLUEBIRD FLYING BACKWARD is not intended to be history. It’s fiction, historical suspense, to be exact.
